League of Villains Empires and Puzzles Event and Stages Guide

Leauge of Villains - Empires & Puzzles
The League of Villains event in Empires & Puzzles is introduced in February 2021, and is a challenge event new for that month. For the League of Villains, the reflect color is purple, so leave your purple heroes out of your attack lineup for this one - unless it is a Villians event hero. This guide will show everything you need to know to succeed in this new event.

League of Villains Stages

This is the stage guide for the League of Villains. As with other challenge events, there are three difficulty levels (Rare, Epic and Legendary). This event presently has 10 stages at each of these difficulty levels, with enemy monsters that are purple, red or blue on every stage.

During the event, I come back here frequently to plan out my attack teams for each stage. Stage Guide for League of Villains Event in Empires & Puzzles

Tip: Know the Reflect Color - Purple / Dark

Tip: Don't Bring Purple Heroes

Since the reflect color is purple in League of Villains, you should not bring any purple heroes on any stage that includes purple monsters or bosses.

Exception: The League of Villains heroes themselves bypass the Elemental Barriers. This means that the purple reflect does not affect them. You can bring the purple villians to battle in this event  without fearing the purple reflect. The purple villains include: Dark Lord, Ingolf, Karnov, and Edd, Howver, even though they bypass the purple reflect, their tile damage still is weak against purple targets.

Villains Heroes Event Bonuses

Villains Heroes Get Increased Attack, Defense And Health

Every Villains event hero has a 20% increased attack, defense, and health in this Event’s stages. For example, if the hero has an attack stat of 801, then for this event, its attack stat goes up to 961! This 20% buff also applies to the defense and health stats. This is a major increase and can significantly increase your score.

Villains Heroes Bypass Elemental Barriers

Villains family heroes bypass the Elemental Barriers. In other words, purple villians bypass the purple reflect, and can damage purple targets in this event.

REMOVED: Villains Heroes Score Bonus, A 2% - 10% Increase

Due to negative feedback from the Beta testers, a 2% scoring bonus for Villains family heroes has been REMOVED. It may be re-introduced at a later time. This event has a special scoring bonus for its event heroes. Each of the heroes in the Villains family gains an increase of 2% to your stage score.  For example, if you have 5 Villains heroes in your attack team, you can get a 10% score bonus for each stage. I think this is a significant increase, and can be as important, if not more important, for high scores as completing the stages fast.

League of Villains Strategies:

Bring League of Villains Heroes Strategy

The Villains Family bonuses are significant, and can hugely increase your stage scores in this event. In fact, the highest scoring strategy is to bring an attack team full of Villains heroes. Of course, this strategy will probably not be possible for most players because it completely depends on your good fortune in the event portal! So, still I think the most likely best strategy is to bring the strongest color (see below). The three Villains Family event bonuses are:
  • +20% Attack, Defense and Health Buff.
  • Reflect color bypass.

Bring Heroes That Are Strong Against the Mobs and Monsters in the Stage

If you've been reading my event guides, you know that a good strategy is to check the stage guide (see the guide above) and remember to put together teams that are strong against the monsters and bosses for that particular stage. For League of Villains, that means bring your yellow heroes for your attack teams on a lot of the stages. One stage has red mob waves, and you may want to bring a blue mono team against that stage. One strategy is to use a mana controller like Proteus or Hel (both purple), or a special skill blocker like Miki in your attack teams in order to keep the bosses neutralized. The blue mana potions can keep your mana controllers ready to fire when needed.

Strategy: Go Mono

To score high, top players typically put together single-color teams. For League of Villains, a yellow mono team would be best for most stages. For some stages red or green mono teams also could work well both are neutral against purple. Red is strong against green, and green is strong against blue.

Remember the Tips For High Scores in Challenge Events

These are the same as for other challenge events.
  • Bring Mono teams - especially yellow for this event.
  • Play fast.
  • Make combos.
  • Bring high level battle items: time stops, tornadoes, bomb attacks and battle axes.
  • REROLL TRICK: you can play a level as many times as you want. So top players play each level until they get lucky and make many combos and diamonds. Some top players look at their initial board, and if they cannot make an immediate diamond, the flee and try again.
The League of Villains adds one more tip:
  • Bring Villians family heroes.

League of Villains Heroes

The League of Villains heroes bring new skill mechanics into the Empires & Puzzles game. I have ranked and graded all of them and played with them as well. The Villains portal includes Dark Lord, who is likely to become one of the most sought after heroes in the game.

Villains Hero Level Grade

Crystalis 5* B
Dark Lord 5* A
Isrod 5*B+
Karnov 5*B-
Toxicandra 5* A

It is weird, that they introduced new event that reflect dark right after Pirates, which also reflect dark. According to schedule in February should be Wonderland - it will be postponed to March, or to July?

A lot of people are wondering the same thing. The schedule rotation for future events has not yet been announced. One thing seems certain though, and that is that League of Villains will premieres in February.

Hi Telly, great website, one comment on this guide: the 2% bonus has been skipped and you changed this on one place, here it still is mentioned :

@Telly There seems to be a glitch with your summon simulator when summoning from League of Villains. In some cases it produces 10 5* all at the same time from various summoning portals.
Telly said…
Hi @Kambala: Thanks for notifying me... I was aware of that and working on debugging! A 5* storm is sweet, but fantasy.

@Cernicalo Thanks, and also thanks for catching that. Took out the second mention of the 2% bonus now.
